Do you need help licensing the copyright you have inherited?
Managing licence requests can be complicated and time-consuming. Leave it to us and we'll make sure you receive the money due to you every time someone uses the work in which you inherited the copyright.
Our team of in-house copyright experts will deal with everything on your behalf, from the price charged to the rights that should (and shouldn't) be granted.
And because we belong to an international network of
sister societies in 32 countries, we can represent you worldwide, whether the work is used in a German art magazine or on an American TV channel.
Are you eligible?
-
Are you the beneficiary or heir of a visual artist?
-
Do you own the copyright in the artworks?
-
Can you confirm you've not granted exclusive rights to anyone else?
If you answer yes to all three questions, then you may be eligible for our copyright licensing service.
How does it work?
-
1. You register your interest for the service
Simply fill out this form and we’ll be in touch.

-
2. We agree terms with you
You and DACS sign an agreement that clearly explains how we shall manage the licensing of your work.

-
3. We license your work to our customers
We approve use of your work and collect an appropriate fee on your behalf.

-
4. You receive royalties up to four times a year
We'll send you a statement along with any royalty payments collected on your behalf, minus 25% to cover our costs.

"Copyright was very important to John. When I die these royalties will go to the family trust which helps musicians - that will be the real legacy."
