Take part in a major study into artists’ livelihoods

DACS is supporting a major national study into how artists in England live and work – the first of its kind in over a decade.

Commissioned by Arts Council England, the project aims to listen to and document the realities of life as a practising visual artist, as well as provide an opportunity to inform future initiatives. The findings will help to focus support where it is most needed to ensure a resilient and diverse visual arts sector.

Independent research company TBR, working with a-n The Artists Information Company and James Doeser, will deliver the project.

They'll draw on existing research, as well as conduct a survey, focus groups and case studies with artists. The deadline for responses is Thursday 31 March 2016.

    Take the survey

The research is due to be completed in spring 2016, and the findings will be published later in the year.
