Rebecca Strickson: Why I'm signed up to Payback

London-based illustrator Rebecca Strickson has worked for clients in a range of sectors from music and fashion to film and publishing. She tells us why she regularly claims royalties through Payback.

Can you tell us a bit about your work?

I am in illustrator, designer, and all round do-er of stuff with Photoshop, pens and pencils and paper. I like to make a mess.

What made you decide to sign up to Payback?

It’s the closest you can get to free money. It’s like someone saying, "Well done on making work and getting it published - here go and buy yourself something nice!"

What did you do with last year’s Payback royalty?

I would be lying if I didn't say I 'celebrated' with it...

What advice would you give to anyone signing up for the first time?

It’s the easiest form to fill, it’s a complete no-brainer. Do it NOW!

Do you have any interesting projects coming up that we should know about?

Well, I’ve just signed to RSA Films’ new Design and Animation department, and I have a few things about to emerge this month. It’s all rather exciting!
