    What is Payback?

    Each year, DACS pays millions of pounds in Payback royalties to visual artists and their estates for the re-use of artworks published in UK books, magazines and TV programmes.
     
    The royalties come from collective licensing schemes enabling businesses to photocopy, scan, re-broadcast or record copyright-protected material.
     
    This year, we have over £5.5 million in Payback royalties to distribute. The final deadline to claim your share of the royalties is Friday 30 September. If you would like to submit by post, the deadline is Friday 16 September.

    Our prize draw Terms and Conditions

    1. This offer is valid from 5 September 2016. The Closing Date for this offer is 9 September 2016.
    2. Unless otherwise stated, the Promoter is DACS, 33 Old Bethnal Green Road, London, E2 6AA.
    3. The prize draws are free to enter. You will be entered automatically into one of the prize draws detailed in clause 8 by submitting a valid Payback claim by the date specified for each prize.  Valid Payback claims will be accepted via http://secure.dacs.org.uk/ and the claimant’s form must be in ‘Submitted' status by the date specified at clause 8 to be eligible for that day’s prize.
    4. Entries received after the Closing Date will not be included in any of the prize draws specified at clause 8.
    5. Only one entry per Payback claimant is permitted.
    6. The winner(s) will be selected by random draw after the Closing Date by an independent person from all eligible entries received before the Closing Date.
    7. The winner(s) will be notified by email or telephone (using details provided at entry) within 14 calendar days after the Closing Date. The winner(s) must provide a postal address to claim their prize. If a winner does not respond to the Promoter within 7 calendar days of being notified by the Promoter, then the winner’s prize may be forfeited and the Promoter will be entitled to select another winner in accordance with the process described above.
    8. The winner(s) will receive one of the following prizes:
      1. an Amazon Gift Card – the winner will be selected from entries received on 5 September 2016;
      2. a John Lewis Gift Card – the winner will be selected from entries received on 6 September 2016;
      3. an Apple Store Gift Card – the winner will be selected entries received on 7 September 2016;
      4. a Hilton HHonors Gift Card – the winner will be selected from entries received on 8 September 2016; or
      5. a Virgin Gift Card – the winner will be selected from entries received on 9 September 2016.
    9. The prizes are non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternative is offered.
    10. The prizes will be despatched within 28 calendar days after the Closing Date.
    11. The prizes will be delivered by parcel delivery to the address supplied by the winner when claiming the prize in accordance with Clause 7 of these terms and conditions.
    12. The decision of the Promoter regarding any aspect of the prize draw is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into about it.
    13. Participants are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these terms upon entry.

    15. The prize draw will be governed by English law and entrants to the prize draw submit to the jurisdiction of the English courts.
