Congratulations to Nick Inman and Jim West, the winners of this year’s early-bird Payback competition! They have each won an iPad Air 2, after submitting their claim forms early in July.
“I love Payback!”
Nick Inman is a travel writer and photographer specialising in Spain and France, where he also lives. His latest book,
A Guide to Mystical France (Findhorn Press), takes you on a journey through France’s sacred sites - an alternative to the conventional travel guide.
Nick has been claiming Payback royalties for a number of years and first joined DACS in 2001. He said: “Payback is a superb scheme that enables me to boost the income from my photographs at a time when the value of images is under threat from internet availability and publishers’ advances are low.”
An advocate of our online claim process, he adds: “The Payback website is extremely easy to use. The instructions have been well thought out and phrased in plain English. DACS is also very good at reminding me when I need to take action.”
Detroit-based
Jim West has been a photographer for over 30 years after initially starting out as a writer. Most of his photography is editorial, with a focus on labour and social issues.
A Payback claimant since 2009, he said: “I love Payback! If every country - or even my own country - had a Payback scheme, the world would be a better place.”
Get royalties for your UK-published work
Is your artwork published in books and magazines in the UK, or been featured in a TV programme? There’s still time to claim your share of over £5.5 million in Payback royalties. Simply complete our claim form by 30 September 2016.
The royalties we distribute each year through Payback come from collective licensing schemes covering the ‘secondary use’ of copyright-protected artwork – from the photocopying and scanning of artwork in publications to the repeat broadcast of television programmes.
