DACS joins Sculpture in the City debate on the ownership of art in the digital age

DACS is speaking on a panel discussion about the ownership of art in the digital age, on Thursday 16 October 2014 at Sculpture in the City. The debate is part of Frieze London’s VIP events programme.

What does digital mean for artistic copyright?

(SM)ARTPHONE: The evolving ownership of art in a Digital Age considers the rise of digital in the art world and its impact on our experience of art and culture, its effect on the art market and the value of art.

Mark Waugh, Head of Research and Innovation at DACS, will be joining the panel to offer a perspective on artistic copyright in the digital age.

He will be speaking alongside panellists Igor Toronyi-Lalic (Art Editor, The Spectator), Karen Sanig (Partner and Head of Art Law, Mishcon de Reya), Caro Howell (Director, Foundling Museum) and the artist Julian Wild.

This year’s exhibition includes sculptures by Jim Lamie, Nigel Hall and Cerith Wyn Evans.

The debate takes place during Frieze London. It is part of the art fair’s VIP events programme and is open to VIP ticket holders.
