DACS to join Bob and Roberta Smith at Art Party Conference 2013

DACS will be taking part in the Art Party Conference, spearheaded by artist Bob and Roberta Smith, on 23 November 2013 in Scarborough. The national event will present lively debate on the future of art and art education alongside artist screenings, stalls, installations and performances.

    An alternative arts conference

Described as “the antidote to all other conferences”, Bob and Roberta Smith’s Art Party Conference follows up his impassioned protest artwork Letter to Michael Gove MP (Secretary of State for Education), in which he campaigned for the inclusion of art subjects in the English Baccalaureate (Ebacc).

It will provide a politically neutral and inspirational forum for those who are passionate about art to enjoy, discuss and debate its future. In the current climate of economic uncertainty and changes to art education, the event hopes to encourage decision-makers to listen and think about the value of art.

Taking place at The Spa in Scarborough, the conference will present discussion and debate alongside artist performances and exhibitions, all followed by a big party in the evening featuring live music and guest artist DJs.
