Art Everywhere will see UK streets flooded with great British art as thousands of billboards and poster sites will be transformed into masterpieces in August 2013.
The world’s largest outdoor gallery
This summer from 10-25 August 2013,
Art Everywhere will transform thousands of billboards and poster sites across the UK into great British masterpieces of the past 300 years.
Artists, curators and entrepreneurs - including DACS artists
Damien Hirst and
Bob and Roberta Smith – have come together to champion the project and make it happen.
Bob and Roberta Smith said:
“When seeing artworks on such a big scale, each made by really strong individual voices, hopefully future generations can be reminded that they can be a part of it too; making them think: ‘maybe I will go to art school’.”
Help curate Art Everywhere
Later in June, a shortlist of artworks from UK public collections will be announced, chosen by a panel of art experts including
DACS Chief Executive, Gilane Tawadros.
Members of the public will be able to select their favourite artworks to make the final 50 to be displayed.
Further information will be available on
Art Everwhere’s website soon.
