British art on thousands of UK poster sites for Art Everywhere until 25 August

Over 50 British artworks selected by the public are up on display on billboards and poster sites across the UK until 25 August 2013, as part of Art Everywhere.

The works can be seen on 22,000 poster sites - including bus stops, huge roadside billboards, railway stations and supermarkets - all across the UK from rural Scotland to Cornwall, Belfast to Norfolk. Londoners on the go are also being treated works of art inside the city’s buses and black cabs.

Each physical artwork is interactive, enabling people to access more information by taking a picture on a smartphone.

It is hoped that Art Everywhere, billed as the world’s largest art show, will entice more people into engaging with art.

DACS artists in Art Everywhere line-up

Art Everywhere's 57-strong line-up of works includes pieces by artists who currently receive royalties from DACS. These were selected via a public poll on Facebook earlier this summer.

We also worked closely with the organisers of the exhibition to license artworks by the artists we represent for Copyright Licensing - such as Francis Bacon, who was voted in the top ten favourite artworks, Hew Locke, Sonia Boyce and Patrick Caulfield.

Find out more about Art Everywhere

You can find out more about Art Everywhere by watching a video of the launch, above, featuring interviews with participating artists Sir Peter Blake and Cornelia Parker.

Art Everywhere was conceived by Richard Reed, co-founder of Innocent Drinks, and produced in collaboration with The Art Fund, Tate Modern and the poster industry.

Our Chief Executive, Gilane Tawadros, contributed to the selection of Art Everywhere’s long list of artworks, as part of a committee of art experts and artists.

All original artworks can be viewed in public collections at museums and galleries across the UK.

All the artists listed above receive royalties from DACS either through our PaybackArtist’s Resale Right or Copyright Licensing services.

Are you a visual artist? Is your work published in UK books, magazines or featured on TV? Sign up to our Payback service for a share of £4 million royalties.
