Artists' archives, jazz and en plein air painting

Hull-born artist Richard Parry will be in conversation with Mark Waugh, Head of Research and Innovation at DACS and leading DACS Foundation’s Art360 legacy project, to talk about artists’ archives and his first-hand experience of tracing Hull’s post-war jazz scene from Paul Burwell to COUM transmissions.

At 6pm, guests will have the chance to board a bus bound for the former site of Paul Burwell’s Boathouse – an avant-garde hangout for artists and musicians in Hull during the early to mid-2000s. There will be the opportunity to experience painting en plein air at sunset, before returning by bus to Humber Dock Street where the event ends at 7pm.
