As an artist or designer you may not necessarily realise the significance of classifying your work as artistic or design work. However, in law, this can have crucial implications.

In this seminar you can learn about the difference between copyright, which applies to artistic work, and design right. You'll hear about recent developments in the law and how to avoid pitfalls, for example, when signing contracts with commissioners.

Speaking at the event will be David Stone, author of new book European Union Design Law: A Practitioners' Guide, and partner at Simmons & Simmons.

The seminar is hosted by Own-it in collaboration with DACS.

Tickets cost £5 or 50 points. Staff, students and recent graduates from University of the Arts London (UAL) are entitled to free credits on registration with Own-it.
