Prices

If you want to use an artwork in a back-drop, as a prop, stage dressing or in a video projection etc, please contact us on licensing@dacs.org.uk and we will contact the artist concerned for a quote.

Information we need

We'll need the following details to process your licence:
  • title of the artwork you want to reproduce
  • name of the artist
  • do you wish to reproduce the work in full, or cropped, manipulated or over-printed
  • context of the reproduction (e.g. stage prop, back drop)
  • PDF of the design/s
  • what is the event
  • how many performances will there be

How the price is calculated

The price is based on the extent to which a work is used as part of the performance or event, and the commerical nature of the project.

A charge is normally made per reproduction. Prices quoted exclude VAT. Please note that in cases where artworks are reproduced as part of a stage setting it is quite likely that these works will be included in accompanying materials which will need to be cleared for separately.

Our fees are set irrespective of the size of the reproduction and whether it is reproduced in colour or black and white.

All prices are correct at the time of publication and are subject to change. Our members reserve the right to override our standard fees.

We review our licensing prices annually. This allows us to keep in-touch with changes in the industry and technological advances, so we can create relevant and robust licences that benefit both our customers and artists.

Should any price changes affect your industry, we shall notify you at least 14 days in advance.

Duration of the licence

Our licences for reproduction on stage normally correspond to the dates of the event in question. Our members also often require specially created reproductions of artworks to be destroyed after the event.

If your use or the format of your use changes, you will need to apply for a new licence.

Renewing or extending a licence

If you wish to renew or extend a licence you will need to submit a new request.
